14 :33 ESTVancouver, January 8 -- The 47 workers of the company Euroline in British Columbia, which specializes in manufacturing windows, rolls and shutters, have chosen to join Local Union 213 of the Teamsters Union.
The vote ordered by the Labour Relations Board of British Columbia offered the choice between the Painters' Union, the Christian Labour Association of Canada, and the Teamsters Union. The latter won with 85 % of the votes.
“Euroline workers have made the right choice. They are joining the 125,000 members our organization has throughout the country”, said Don McGill, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local Union 213. “The Teamsters Union is without a doubt the most dynamic union organization we have today.”
Several members of the Teamsters Union organization of British Columbia committed themselves strongly in this matter.
Robert Bouvier, President of Teamsters Canada, expressed his thanks: “I would like to congratulate the officers from the local unions as well as the representatives of Teamsters Canada for their great work in this campaign. Together we can make a difference. That’s what we’ve shown more than once.”
