Kingston, Ontario (March 24, 2010) – 27 school bus monitors on the eve of a Stock School Bus Driver and Mechanics one year strike anniversary voted to certify with Teamsters Local Union 91.  This victory now makes Kingston a wall to wall Union shop, and best of all it is all represented by Teamsters.  

Teamsters Local Union 91 believes this is the first ‘monitors only’ certification in Canada at this point. This is an area which has experienced large growth as demands on bus driver’s increase.  

“More and more the industry is turning to the Teamsters for representation, representing this aspect of the business provides us a greater perspective to help the industry drive up standards” stated Union President Brian MacDonald.


The Teamsters Union represents 125,000 members in Canada in all trades. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, with which Teamsters Canada is affiliated, has 1.4 million members in North America.
